ABOUT US
Hello, readers, my name is Sakshi and here I am presenting Crafting Lives. A name which was started as a hobby and soon turned into a passion for learning, creating and teaching assorted crafts and techniques.
I am crafty since childhood; I use to make stuff for myself or for gifting to loved ones. Everybody appreciated then, and it felt great. I grew up looking at my grandmother & my mother upcycling from old dresses, beddings (all those unused stuff occupying space in your cupboard) and converting them into lovely bags, rugs, bedspreads and so on. You do get inspired by the things happening in your surroundings, don’t you?
Having a creative family gives an opportunity to learn at home and you get motivation and support to follow your interest. My mom, sister, aunt everyone does something creative. I learned various thread crafts from my family members and sometimes from artisans in Craft Fair. I try to learn as many things possible and I really enjoy it.
What happened next; when I was 17 my sister exhibited her creations and I volunteered at her stall to assist with sales. At that time I realized selling is great fun, and when you have detailed knowledge of the products, astonishing. Since then I had this in mind that I will sell handcrafted products someday, which I did after few years. I started selling them in various exhibitions, at my workplace, from home and online. It feels fulfilling when folks like your creation, appreciate your hard work and the most importantly buy for themselves or to gift someone special. It is great, isn’t it?

But, if I wanna sell my creations then, what I am doing here? You are right. Whenever I exhibit, it's quite often that visitors appreciate the products and show interest in learning the techniques. This makes me happy and helpless at the same time. Visitors are not always from the same place as I am otherwise time is always an issue. So teaching seemed like a tough choice.
Thanks and enjoy crafting
